iAllure Photoshoot at Yatule Resort and Spa

At Totoka Hair & Makeup, we were very excited to be part of the iAllure photoshoot for owner Christie-Ann’s 2015 Spring collection at the beautiful Yatule Resort situated on Natadola beach, on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu. Yatule Resort and Spa overlooks the captivating blue waters of Natadola beach which has been voted one of the best beaches in the world. So it was no surprise that Christie-Ann chose this resort to have her beautiful designs photographed.

iAllure is an Australian company that designs and makes their own stunning kaftans. This is our second photoshoot with the company and the exciting part of this shoot was our very own Leanne Goff, owner of Totoka Hair & Makeup Fiji was not only one of our stylists for the day but had also agreed to model these gorgeous Kaftans! It certainly was a fun, girly day with lots of makeup, hair tools, accessories, shoes, the beautiful kaftans and of course our 3 stunning models, Leanne, Alana and Maddie.

Since the colors and prints of the kaftans were vibrant with the colors of spring, we decided to keep the makeup fairly natural, emphasizing mainly on the lips for some colour. We kept the eye shadows warm and did a lot of contouring to bring out our models features. Lip colors were bright, using lots red, pink and orange tones and that went perfectly with the kaftans. Makeup used were from Catalino Geo, Sephora and MAC. We used our miracle makeup setting spray to set the makeup so that it would last the whole day…and it did! For hair, we kept it simple as well, with beachy waves and soft messy do’s that portrayed that relaxed, resort mood. We used our favourite RPR hair spray, “Hold me tight” to keep it all in place!

The weather wasn’t really on our side, with an overcast and it was fairly windy but that didn’t stop photographer Rob Rickman of Three Loose Coconuts from doing what he does best! We were definitely blown away by his amazing photography skills making the shoot look like we had a lot of sun with his lighting skills coming into play, as the photos cannot be photoshopped as the colours need to be as true as possible for the Kaftans to look accurate.

All in all we had an amazing day and would do it again in a heartbeat!
